Where do trash
barrels belong?
When walking around the Riverbend housing development, one never sees trash or recycling containers except on pick-up day. On the other hand in The Farms, trash containers are sometimes at the curb during the week and stored in full view on several properties. Many neighbors think it distracts from the appearance of our neighborhood. Please take a minute to consider where you store your trash barrels and whether your decision impacts the appearance of your home, your street and your neighborhood.
Reminders:
1. Cleaning up your property? Residents are now required to pay $75 in advance for each bulky waste pick up. To schedule a pickup call the city yard at (860) 344-3407.
2. To report a street light outage, note the pole number and the street that it is on and call Public Works at (860) 344-3407.
3. Any change to your home which requires a building permit from the City, requires pre-approval from the Association. Forms are available from most Board members.
Thank you
Walking around the neighborhood is not only good for our health, but it also lifts our spirits. Thanks to the majority of homeowners who offer their green lawns and beautiful flowers for our viewing pleasure! Also, remember that homeowners are responsible for mowing the strip of land between the sidewalk and the street and low hanging branches that block the sidewalk should be clipped as well.
Tag Sales Spring and
Fall
If the Tag Sale sponsored by Sterling Realtors for June 12th did not give you enough time to gather your treasures, the Board will consider sponsoring another Tag Sale in mid to late September depending on how many households want to participate. If you are interested in having a fall tag sale, PLEASE, let Cari Macdermott know (613-2760) if you plan to join in and what dates are most convenient. We need a minimum of 5 families.
Recession and The Farms
The majority of houses in our
neighborhood are well maintained by homeowners. However, several have been
subject to foreclosure, one of them has a new owner and one has been abandoned.
The Board is considering legal options to get that property maintained.
Unfortunately this process is more time consuming and frustrating than we, and
neighbors close to the properties, would like. Thank you for your patience and
understanding.
Annual
Meeting
A separate notice will be sent next month announcing
the date and location of the annual fall meeting. Those homeowners wishing to
add items to the agenda, please submit them in writing to Charles Solomon at
least one month in advance.
